What is a SPIRO speech valve?
The unique SPIRO respiratory device redirects airflow, but also pre-warms, moisturises and filters inhaled air when placed on the hub of a fenestrated tracheostomy tube.
The air is facilitated to flow through the vocal folds, mouth and nose, allowing voice and communication, whilst considerably reducing the production of mucus. The SPIRO speech valve also incorporates an easy-breathing oxygen nipple which can help deliver a significantly increased supply of oxygen as required.
Offering both day-time support (through the filtrated speaking valve) and night-time support (through the humidifier) the SPIRO respiratory system is comprehensive, lightweight and comfortable as well as economical thanks to its exchangeable filter design.
